Broadway at the Eccles
You may have heard about the Eccles Theater scheduled to open this fall. Cuisine Unlimited will have the exciting opportunity to be the exclusive food and beverage services provider for all shows and private events, and to operate Encore Bistro at Eccles Theater.
Last week, Broadway at the Eccles announced the line-up for their inaugural season, and we were there for the party during the KSL special announcing each of the amazing shows. It was a great party, featuring delicious food by Cuisine Unlimited and attended by some of the biggest names in Salt Lake City.
In order to keep with the theme of the evening, we served specialty desserts inspired by the shows featured in the 2016-2017 season of Broadway at the Eccles.
Dirty Dancing
If you've ever seen Dirty Dancing, you probably remember Baby's first words to Johnny: "I carried a watermelon." Well, our servers carried watermelon mousse tartlets in honor of the hit show.
Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella
The traditional story of Cinderella we know and love is based in France, so it only seemed natural to have French macarons. We tied in the classic Cinderella blue color and some crystal sugar to represent the glass slippers.
Matilda the Musical
We all know Matilda loves a good book. We couldn't think of any better way to represent the feisty six-year-old than with an assortment of fondant books resting atop chocolate mousse cupcakes.
Kinky Boots
Nothing from Kinky Boots is more iconic than the bright red shoes, so we had to serve red velvet cupcakes adorned with sparkly red heels. These became an instant crowd favorite as Kurt Bestor came out to perform a song in his own kinky boots.
Irving Berlin's White Christmas
Everyone loves a good holiday show, and Irving Berlin's White Christmas will be a perfect addition to the already magical holiday season in Downtown SLC. These snowflake shortbread cookie sandwiches brought the holiday spirit alive, even if it is only March.
Beautiful - The Carole King Musical
We could not be more excited about the first show to premier at the Eccles Theater this November. We served chocolate truffles with music notes to represent the musical artistry of Carole King. As the first of many wonderful shows to play at the theater, we have already started developing a menu themed to Beautiful for Encore Bistro at Eccles Theater. We even offered a sneak peak of the Salmon & Corn Chowder on Good Things Utah last week!
Visit the Broadway at the Eccles website to purchase season tickets, or individual tickets for the 2016-2017 specials, including The Lion King, The Book of Mormon, and A Kurt Bestor Christmas.
